Russian Chief Sanitary Inspector Gennady Onishenko has confirmed that
Russia and the EU have agreed on a special regime for EU vegetables in
Russia, although the embargo stays in force, RIA Novosti reports.

Onishenko explained that Russia still expects clarification from the
EU laboratories that test vegetables before their export to Russia.
The EU approved Russian conditions at the summit in early June.

Russia and the EU signed a deal on vegetable imports to Russia in
Moscow on Wednesday. Each vegetable portion will need to be certified
that it has no signs of the E.coli 104 infection. The certification
system will be lifted if the EU registers no cases of infection within
10 days.
