EU to hold summit on Ukraine, defense and energy

In late May, the leaders of the countries of the European Union will hold an extraordinary meeting dedicated to Ukraine, defence and energy issues, President of the European Council Charles Michel wrote on Twitter.

"A special meeting of the European Council will be held on May 30-31. Defence, energy and Ukraine are on the agenda," TASS quotes him as saying.

The main topic of the meeting will be the implementation of the first EU defense concept Strategic Compass, which, in particular, involves the creation of its own rapid reaction forces of up to 5,000 people.
