US makes exception for sanctioned Russians
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaThe US Treasury Department issued a general license that allows sanctioned Russian citizens and companies to freely use web communications services.
The list includes instant messengers, e-mail, Internet browsers, social networks, file storage, as well as paid versions of programs such as Zoom, and Dropbox. Russians will also be able to pay for web hosting, domain name registration (GoDaddy) and so on.
The license does not only allow the use of dollar correspondent accounts in the interests of Russian banks from the CAPTA list, the debiting of funds from the frozen American accounts of the Central Bank of Russia or the Ministry of Finance and transactions prohibited by the decrees of the US President on the import embargo of Russian hydrocarbons and on the export of dollar bills and luxury goods to the Russian Federation.
