Georgia reports 235 COVID-19 cases
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaGeorgia has reported 235 new Covid-19 cases, 496 recoveries, and five deaths in the past 24 hours.
The positivity rate for the last seven days stands at 1.34 percent.
Overall 2,555 remain infected with coronavirus in Georgia. A total of 20,318 tests were conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 18,357 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 1,961 were PCR tests. 1,652,707 cases of coronavirus have been registered in Georgia since February 26, 2020.
A total of 1,633,338 of 1,652,707 patients have recovered, while 16,788 have died from the virus.
The new Omicron variant of coronavirus accounts for the majority of confirmed Covid-19 cases. A total of 349 are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. Currently, 76 people are undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit. 2,206 people are undergoing treatment at home.
Overall, 1,363,768 individuals have received at least one dose of any vaccine in the country so far, while 1,260,512 people have been fully vaccinated amounting to 43.8 percent of the country’s adult population and 246,846 have received booster shots of the vaccine.
