Vučić: Serbia will continue friendship and partnership with Russia

The incumbent head of state Alexander Vučić, who won the presidential election in Serbia, assured Russian Ambassador Alexander Bocan-Kharchenko that friendly and partnership relations will continue between the countries.

According to preliminary data, Vučić won the election with a score of about 60%. On Sunday, the Russian ambassador met with the President of Serbia and congratulated him on his re-election as head of state.

"Thanking for the congratulations, President Vučić said that Serbia on its European path would continue to maintain traditional friendly relations and partnership with Russia and China. At the meeting, they discussed the development of Serbian-Russian bilateral relations, including the energy sector, and the expectation was expressed that negotiations on volume, price and other terms of gas supplies would begin soon", Vučić's administration informs.

The current contract between Srbiyagaz and Gazprom expires on May 31. Belgrade plans to conclude a new contract for 10 years.
