Chechen leader calls for measures against internet propaganda against Caucasians
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaThe Chechen leader, Ramzan Kadyrov, has called for more measures
against internet extremism against Caucasians, Yuga.ru reports.
At a meeting with Shamsail Saraliyev, the Chechen Minister for Foreign
Links, National Policy, Press and Information, Kadyrov noted that
there had been no internet filtering before, which had resulted in
numerous anti-Caucasian websites.
Basayev was used as a figure for the separation of the Caucasus and
Russia. Now nationalism is being propogated on the internet. The
rising extremism is related to the coming parliamentary and
presidential elections in Russia.
Kadyrov said that internet websites often claim that large financial
sums are sent to the region. There need to be demonstrations to the
contrary, he said.
The Chechen leader claimed that nationalism in the republic had been
eliminated. Nationalism against Caucasians will not benefit Russia.
Vladimir Putin had made the right decision to solve the problem 10
years ago, Kadyrov said.
Kadyrov said that they will not allow the situation in Russia to be
shattered, commenting on the nationalistic disorders on Manezhnaya
Square in December 2011.
