Russian president introduces bill on election limitations

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has introduced a bill to parliament,
reducing the barrier for elections to the lower chamber of parliament
from 7% to 5% of the vote, RIA Novosti reports.

The parliamentary elections will be held in December 2011. The
amendments are expected to come into force for the elections in 2016.
