EU to allocate another 500 million euros to Ukraine
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaEuropean Union member states are set to agree on 500 million euros more in military aid to Ukraine when the bloc’s foreign ministers meet Monday, July 18, according to people familiar with the matter.
That would bring the total arms financing to 2.5 billion euros.
The EPF, which has a ceiling of about 6 billion euros, is also used to support other countries and the EU will need to reassess after the summer how to continue providing support for Ukraine using the mechanism, the people said.
Raising the ceiling would require difficult negotiations among member states but the alternative could require shaving off money allocated to projects in other countries.
