Iranian parliament head arrives in Baku

Azerbaijan and Iran say they have great potential to improve bilateral
ties, 1news.az reports.


Azerbaijani Parliament Speaker Oktay Asadov met his Iranian
counterpart Ali Larijani in Baku. Asadov noted that the two states
have about 90 cooperation deals. Trade turnover between Iran and
Azerbaijan reached $160 million in 2010, and exceeded $110 million in
January-April 2011.


The Iranian speaker said that he had not visited Azerbaijan for 15
years. There are opportunities to improve ties, he added. He also
noted there is interest in the development of the chemical industry.
