Iran hails Caspian states' Inter-Parliamentary Assembly

Iran welcomes the establishment of the Caspian littoral states' Inter-Parliamentary Assembly, Iranian Parliamentary Speaker Ali Larijani said at a press-conference in Baku today, Trend reports.

"The Caspian Sea has a great potential. The establishment of such regional bodies can assist in resolving issues related to the Caspian Sea," Larijani said.

Larijani started his working visit to Azerbaijan on Friday. Larijani is visiting Azerbaijan on invitation from the Azerbaijani Parliamentary Speaker Ogtay Asadov. The visit aimed to enhance Iranian-Azerbaijani inter-parliamentary cooperation.

He met with Asadov, Prime Minister Artur Rasizade, and the country’s other officials in Baku.
