Iranian women banned from appearing in ads over ice cream
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaThe ice cream ad has led to the introduction of a ban on the appearance of women and female images in commercials, Iran International writes.
The Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance said in a letter to the country's art and film schools that women should not appear in advertising in accordance with the "rules of chastity and wearing the hijab."
The reason for this was a controversial ice cream ad featuring an Iranian woman eating an ice cream after driving a car. The same ice cream brand released another video in which a woman in a hijab is associated with ice cream.
