'Uprisings testify to Quran promises' - Ayatollah Khamenei

The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei says the recent uprisings in the region testify to the certainty of God's promises in the Holy Quran, the Iranian news agency Press TV reports.

"The uprisings of the nations in the region are clear signs of the definite fulfillment of God's Quranic promises," the Supreme Leader told a group of participants in the 28th International Holy Quran Competition in the Iranian capital of Tehran on Tuesday.

The Iranian leader added that the US, Israel, and their allies would not even think of a revolution in Egypt, but the Egyptian nation
became victorious with the help of God.

By helping the Egyptian nation, God proved once again that if the Almighty helps somebody, no power can defeat them, Ayatollah Khamenei said.

The Supreme Leader also said Qur'an is "the most important factor of unity, dignity and authority of Muslim nations."
