Stavropol Territory in "OPORA" index

According to the "2010-2011 OPORA" rating by the all-Russian public organization of small- and medium-sized businesses «Support of Russia», Stavropol Territory is the fourth best region in Russia for business.

40 regions of the Russian Federation took part in the research. Business conditions were estimated according to several dozen criteria, including the availability of real estate and land, infrastructure, qualified experts and financial support.

All the indicators have been divided into five components of successful business: human resources, financial resources, administrative conditions and safety,aqnd system of suppliers. Each of them was assessed by a telephone survey of owners and heads of small- and medium-scale enterprises. Over 5,000 respondents from 40 regions of Russia participated in the survey.

According the survey, the region came in second place in terms of availability of real estate and land, and third place in availability of credits and loans for businessmen. However, the system of suppliers of equipment and components, as well as business services, requires improvement.
