Tehran ready to help Baku and Yerevan resolve situation on border

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kan'ani expressed concern about the recent escalation of tension and border conflicts between Azerbaijan and Armenia and called on both sides to resolve disputes in a peaceful manner.

The diplomat announced Iran's readiness for providing any assistance to resolve the disputes between the two neighboring countries.

On September 12, 2022, starting at late night, the units of the armed forces of Armenia held large-scale provocations in the directions of Dashkasan, Kalbajar and Lachin of Azerbaijan-Armenia state border. Necessary measures were taken to suppress the firing points of the Armenian Armed Forces and to prevent the expansion of the scale of hostilities.
