Leaders of Türkiye and Israel hold first meeting since 2008

According to The Jerusalem Post, the conversation took place at the Turkish Consulate in New York and was closed to the press. Only official photographers were admitted to the meeting, the newspaper writes.
The publication recalls that Lapid became the first prime minister of Israel to meet with Erdoğan since 2008. In this regard, The Jerusalem Post notes that this meeting marks another step towards rapprochement between Türkiye and Israel, following the restoration of full diplomatic relations and the return of ambassadors to the two countries' capitals, which was announced in August.
