Putin eliminates Russia’s Federal Agency for Tourism

Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree eliminating the Federal Agency for Tourism, with its functions delegated to the Economic Development Ministry, according to the document released on the official portal of legal information on Thursday.

"I hereby resolve to eliminate the Federal Agency for Tourism to enhance governance in the sector of tourism and tourist activities, improve the efficiency of the development of the tourist industry and optimize the structure of federal authorities," the decree reads.

"The functions of the Federal Agency for Tourism that is being eliminated, should be delegated to the Russian Economic Development Ministry," according to the document.
