Lavrov sends proposals on Nagorno-Karabakh peace to Armenia

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has sent Armenia proposals on
settling the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, RIA Novosti reports.


Lavrov met his Armenian counterpart Edward Nalbandian today.


Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan will study the proposals in the near future.
Lavrov will send the proposals to Azerbaijan later.


Sergey Lavrov is on a visit to Yerevan. He will fly to Baku after. The
visits were ordered by Russian President Dmitry Medvedev.


Kazan hosted a trilateral summit of Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan,
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Russian President Dmitry
Medvedev on June 24. The summit resulted in no agreements on settling
the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, although the sides stated progress in
the process.


It has been the 9th summit of the kind since 2008 and the second
summit this year. The previous summit was held in Sochi on March 5.
