LG may move Russian production to Uzbekistan or Kazakhstan

The South Korean company LG is considering closing a plant in the Moscow region and moving production to Uzbekistan or Kazakhstan, a source in the household appliances market told Kommersant.

In Uzbekistan, the manufacturer is negotiating with Artel, which produces Samsung equipment. In Kazakhstan, LG had a production facility, which was closed in 1998. According to the source, part of the company's top management has already been relocated to Tashkent. Another source states that LG is negotiating with the Kazakh authorities.
