Azerbaijan to clear two districts of mines

Azerbaijan will clear of mines the Gazakh and Agstafi districts on the
border with Georgia, Director of the Azerbaijani National Anti-Mine
Agency (ANAMA), Nazim Ismaylov, said, Trend reports.


ANAMA will also clear mines on the Jeyranchel territory, an area of
6,000 hectares.


Ismaylov explained that there were many training mines and Grad missiles left.


Azerbaijan will finance 36% of expenses, the rest will be covered by
NATO. The project is worth 9 million euro. Contracts will be signed by
November. Work will start in January 2012. The first stage will last
28 months and will cost 2.4 million manats.
