U.S. Ambassador to the UN Linda Thomas-Greenfield said she was “delighted” the deal that guarantees safe passage for ships carrying vital grain exports from Ukraine was being resurrected.

"I was delighted to hear this news. And I want to first commend the UN, the Secretary-General, in particular, for continuing to negotiate this important deal, because it’s providing needed food to the world," she told CNN This Morning.

Russia suspended its participation in the Black Sea Grain Initiative on October 29. On Wednesday Russia said it was rejoining the agreement that guarantees safe passage for ships carrying grain exports from Ukraine.
