Turkish president visits Bulgaria

Abdullah Gul is visiting Bulgaria as president for the first time. His
visit will continue for 3 days.
A special ceremony was organized for Gul at the Square of Alexander
Nevsky. The national anthems of both states were played. The Turkish
president was greeted by a guard of honor. He laid flowers at the Tomb
of the Unknown Soldier.
Turkish President Abdullah Gul had a closed-door meeting with his
Bulgarian counterpart, Georgi Parvanov. He will meet Bulgarian Prime
Minister Boyko Borisov, Speaker Tsetska Tsacheva and the head of the
Turkish-Bulgarian friendship group at the Bulgarian Parliament,
Ramazan Atalay.
Gul will attend the Turkish-Bulgarian forum and meet Bulgaria's supreme mufti.
Abdullah Gul is expected to visit a construction site on the Sofia
subway, constructed by a Turkish company.
