The Czech Republic has banned visa-free transit for Russian citizens via its airports, the Czech foreign ministry said.

Starting November 21, Russian nationals are required to have an airport transit visa to stay in transit zones of Czech international airports.

This requirement does not apply to holders of Schengen visas and permanent residence permits in the European Union and European Economic Area countries, Japan, Canada, and the United States, as well as to family members of EU citizens, diplomats and plane crew members who are citizens of member countries of the Convention on International Civil Aviation.
