Hillary Clinton supports Turkey in fight against Kurdish rebels

The United States supports Turkey in its fight against the Kurdistan Workers' Party, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said. Hillary Clinton is on a visit to Istanbul to attend a meeting of the International Contact Group on Libya.

The statement was a response to a large military clash with Kurdish rebels in southeastern Turkey. 13 soldiers were killed, 7 soldiers – wounded and 7 militants killed, Radio Liberty reports.

The Kurdistan Workers' Party was founded more than 30 years and  leading an armed struggle for self-determination of Kurds living in southeastern Turkey.
