Abkhazian embassy opened in Moscow

The official opening ceremony of the embassy of Abkhazia in Russia was held today in Moscow. Representatives of the Foreign Ministries of the two countries were present, including the foreign minister of Abkhazia, Maxim Gvinja, and the amabassador of Abkhazia, Igor Akhba, Interfax reports. Andrey Nesterenko represented the Russian side.

The director of the department for the CIS countries of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Alexander Kelin, said that the opening of the embassy would help the development of contacts between the two countries, as well as of "interesting" contacts with other countries, including Latin American and African states, RBC reports.
