Russia-China trade turnover increases sharply

The trade turnover between Russia and China surged by 25.9% year-on-year to more than $33.68 bln in January - February 2023, the Main Customs Administration of China said on Tuesday.

According to released data, the Chinese exports to Russia gained 19.8% and totaled about $15.03 bln during two months. Imports of Russian goods and services soared by 31.3% to about $18.65 bln.

Crude oil, natural gas and coal account for the bulk of the value of goods imported by China from Russia. Copper and copper ore, timber and seafood are among other key items of import from Russia. China is exporting a wide range of products to Russia, with a significant portion composed of smartphones, industrial and specialized equipment, toys, footwear, motor vehicles, air conditioners and computers.
