Ilham Aliyev: Realities of occupation, war and its results must be included in peace treaty

Negotiations on a peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia should be conducted taking into account the realities of the occupation of Azerbaijani territories, the Karabakh war and post-war changes, President Ilham Aliyev warned, speaking in the village of Talish, Terter region, on the occasion of Novruz.
The head of state stressed that the results of the second Karabakh war should not be forgotten. According to him, new, post-war realities will have to be recognized and accepted by everyone. Accordingly, Ilham Aliyev pointed out to the need to remember that for 30 years the Azerbaijani territories were occupied by Armenia.
The head of state drew attention to the great importance of the factors he noted for the future peace agreement with Yerevan and stressed that they should not be ignored.
The President explained that some want the events of the war, occupation, including those due to which the flourishing Aghdam turned into the "Hiroshima of the Caucasus", to be forgotten. The head of state rejected such a possibility.
Ilham Aliyev pointed out that the realities connected with the occupation of Azerbaijani territories by Armenia, the Karabakh war, as well as post-war realities, must be taken into account – and will be taken into account – in the negotiations on a peace agreement, otherwise, the President stressed, the peace agreement is out of the question.
