Composer Karen Khachaturian dies in Moscow

Composer Karen Khachaturian, People's Artist of the RSFSR, has died in
Moscow aged 90, RIA Novosti cites press-secretary of the Russian Union
of Composers, Andrey Ustinov, as saying.

Karen Khachaturyan was born on September 19, 1920. He wrote music for
feature and animated films, including such films as Viy and Shot. He
became a People's Artist in 1981, received an Order for Merit to
Fatherland of the 4th degree in 2007, and the Order of Honour in 2000.
