Iran continues operation against Kurds in Iraq

The Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps entered Iraq on July 16.
Iranian forces held an operation against the Party of Free Life of
Kurdistan, a separatist organization.

Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki and Prime Minister of Iraqi
Kurdistan Barham Salih were on a visit to Beijing.

Iran says that three separatist bases were destroyed. Kurds say that
Iran used heavy artillery and helicopters. A Kurdish spokesman said
that Iran had about 150 guards wounded and killed. Tehran says that
only 3 servicemen were wounded.
