Iranian FM dismisses allegations of attack on US base

Iranian Foreign Minister denied reports that an Iranian UAV attacked a US base in Syria. Hossein Amir-Abdollahian stressed that Tehran does not need a confrontation with Washington.

Iran does not need tension in relations with the United States, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said after talks with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov.

He stressed that Tehran is not looking for a confrontation with Washington.

The head of the Foreign Ministry drew attention to the fact that the US accusations regarding the attack on the American military base are unfounded.

Earlier, the Pentagon claimed that the base of the anti-terrorist coalition in Syria was attacked by an Iranian drone. As a result of the attack, one American contract service employee was killed and another one injured along with five US servicemen.
