Finland might join NATO in near future

The Finnish President believes that Turkey may ratify its application to NATO in the next few days. Immediately after that the country will be able to officially become the alliance member, Sauli Niinistö said.

Finland's application to join NATO may be ratified by Turkey before the end of the week, the country's president said, expressing confidence in Ankara's intention to promptly resolve this issue.

When will the Turkish parliament discuss Finland's bid?

The Justice and Development Party (AKP) Group Deputy Chair Yılmaz Tunç said Turkey’s parliament will vote to approve Finland’s membership in NATO on March 30. The bill was earlier assessed by a subcommittee of the Turkish parliament and will be approved with a vote at the general assembly.
