Baku offered Kazakhstan to transport 5 million tons of Kazakh crude oil via the Baku-Supsa pipeline next year.

According to Sputnik Azerbaijan, oil will be supplied from the Kashagan field through Azerbaijan, if an agreement is reached between the parties. Astana was also offered oil shipment through the ports located on the Black Sea coast.

The route of the Baku-Supsa pipeline runs from the Sangachal terminal 40km south of Baku to the Georgian port of Supsa on the Black Sea.

Kashagan is Kazakhstan's largest offshore hydrocarbon field with a potential of 38 billion barrels of oil. The Kashagan shareholders are Kazakh state oil company KazMunaiGas, Royal Dutch Shell, Eni, Total, Inpex and CNPC.
