Forest fire crossed Kazakhstan-Russia border

Yesterday, the forest fire started in Kazakhstan engulfed Russian territory. Kazakh emergency services were extinguishing the fire over 24 hours.

The fire that broke out yesterday on the territory of Kazakhstan’s Pavlodar region crossed the state border and engulfed a Russian forest.

The emergency call was received  yesterday at 12.50 local time (9.50 Moscow time). It was reported that the natural reserve Ertis Ormany caught fire. The total area engulfed by the fire reached 200 hectares. Eventually, the fire spread to the Russian territory.

Extinguishing

Rescuers with equipment arrived at the emergency site. To determine the severity of the situation, representatives of the department's leadership and other officials studied it from the air in a helicopter.

The extinguishing of the fire continued over 24 hours. By 16.15 local time (13.15 Moscow time) the fire in the reserve was extinguished.
