Fans ruin Fenerbahce vs. Shakhtar match in Istanbul

Fans at the Fenerbahce stadium in Istanbul have ruined a match with
Ukraine's Shakhtar Donetsk FC at the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium, RIA

About 40 heads and administrators of football clubs were arrested for
fixing matches in the 2010-2011 Turkish Premier League. About 20
matches were fixed. Azyz Yildirim, President of Fenerbahce FC, is
among those arrested.


The match was stopped in the 69th minute. Turkish fans attacked the
press section of the stadium, the Armenian half-back Henrich
Mkhitaryan said. The captain of the Ukrainian team, Dario Srna, noted
that the atmosphere at the stadium was positive and he would want
Yildirim to be released.


Yildirim was hospitalized several times due to heart problems,
diabetes and blood pressure.
