Tragedy in Khojaly - Commemorative event at Moscow Jewish Museum and Tolerance Center

The tragedy took place at night on February 26 in 1992. Illegal armed formations of Armenian nationalists, with the support of mercenaries, captured the Azerbaijani city of Khojaly and killed 613 Khojaly residents, including 106 women and 63 children. 8 families were completely destroyed.
1275 people were taken hostages by militants, 150 went missing, including 68 women and 26 children.
5,379 residents of Khojaly were expelled. 487 were injured while leaving their homes.
