Armenians want resignation on Catholicos of All Armenians

The civil initiative "We demand the resignation of the Catholicos"appealed to the National Ecclesiastical Assembly and demanded thedismissal of Karekin II from the post of Catholicos of All Armenians.According to members of the initiative, the current Catholicos of AllArmenians Karekin II does not act with due seriousness, prudence andvirtue and ignores the importance of the Armenian Apostolic Church.The group mentions such negative feature of the current state of theArmenian Church as corruption, created barrier between the people andthe church, neglected state of Armenian churches and senselessconstruction of the new residence of the Catholicos in the center ofYerevan, in place of Katohike.
