Earthquake in western Turkey

An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.2 has hit the eastern part of
Turkey, the seismology service of Bosphorus University said, RIA
Novosti
reports.


The earthquake center was registered in the Marmara Sea in the
Tekirdag Province at a depth of 8.4 km at 20.57.


Quakes were registered in Istanbul as well.


Earthquakes are common in Turkey. The Marmara Sea has two earthquakes
with a magnitude of 7.4 in August and November 1999, over 17,000
people died.
