Georgia developing tourism
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaThe Georgian government believes that 3 million tourists will have visited the country by the end of the year. This was announced today by Georgian Prime Minister Nika Gilauri and the country's Minister of Economy, Vera Kobalia, at a government meeting, Business Georgia reports.
According to Mrs Kobalia, 1.2 million tourists visited Georgia in the first half of 2011, so that Ajaria's hotels are 80 percent full. She
said that most of the tourists come from Russia, Turkey, Armenia and Azerbaijan.
She also stressed the point that the number of Iranian tourists visiting Georgia is increasing.
