51,000 hectares suffered from flooding in Azerbaijan

As a result of the disastrous flooding which has hit Azerbaijan,
51,000 hectares of land has been damaged said Agriculture Minister
Ismat Abbasov, reports APA. The minister added the floods mainly
damaged grain crops.
He noted that a large number of poultry and cattle died as a result of
the flooding. Ismat Abbasov said people will be recompensed for the
damage.
 Ismat Abbasov said it is not excluded that there could be shortages,
with price rises for agricultural products in the country in
connection with the floods, but added that the state will take
measures to prevent artificial price rises and shortages.
