Azerbaijan to sign gas transit deal with Turkey in September

September. Azerbaijan will transport gas to Europe, Turkish Ambassador
to Azerbaijan Khulusi Kylydzh said, Trend reports.
Azerbaijan will transport 10 billion cubic meters of gas through
Turkey. The main source of gas will be the Shah Deniz field, which
will be launched in 2017.
The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic (SOCAR) is
negotiating the issue with buyers and transporters of gas. Realization
of the second stage of Shah Deniz development can be expected after
signing of the transit deal.
Head of the foreign investment department of SOCAR, Vagif Aliyev, said
that they had agreed on most details of the contract, including
payments, gas volumes and transport ways. There are still legal
disagreements left.
