Turkish opposition questions resignations

Turkey’s major opposition party has expressed respect for high-ranking commanders’ recent decision to resign but questioned the reason behind the move, suggesting the event indicates that the country has entered an “extraordinary period.”

“Okay, we respect their democratic reaction. We would, however, like to know the reason behind it. What happened behind closed doors must be brought to light,” Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, leader of the Republican People’s Party, told Hürriyet Daily News.
