KazMunayGaz borrows $1 billion

KazMunayGaz signed a deal on July 15, borrowing $1 billion, the
company said today.


The deal was realized by underwriters Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ
Ltd., ING Bank N.V., Natixis and the Royal Bank of Scotland plc. Nine
banks were involved in the deal.


CityBank Kazakhstan, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation and Uni
Credit Bank Austria AG were involved as organizers. Syndication was
held in June, with the participation of the Bank of America Merrill
Lynch, Siemens Bank GmbH, Intesa Sanpaolo S.p.A, Mega International
Commercial Bank, UBS and the Export Import Bank of the Republic of
China.


The loan will be paid back in 5 years with a rate of Libor + 2.1%. It
is the first syndicated loan by KazMunayGaz since 2008.
