Construction of Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway to be completed in 2012

The construction of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway linking Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey, will be completed in 2012,said Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development of Georgia, Ramaz Nikolaishvili, Business Georgia reports.

Nikolaishvili said, at the moment the railway station in the town of Akhalkalaki in southern Georgia has been completed.

"This project is important for infrastructure development in Georgia. Goods from China will be shipped by this rood as soon as possible through Georgia to the European markets. "
