Former Azerbaijani President Ayaz Mutalibov intends to fly from Moscow to Baku to attend his son’s funeral

Ex-president Ayaz Mutalibov is planning to come to Baku tonight to attend the funeral of his son Azad Mutalibov, APA reports.

Mutalibov is reported to arrive in Baku from Moscow with an evening flight.

Ayaz Niyazi oglu Mutalibov is living in Moscow since 1992. He is a co-chair of the Social Democratic Party of Azerbaijan (SDPA). In Azerbaijan, Mutalibov is accused of multiple violent criminal acts committed in the office of the chairman of the Council of Ministers and as President of the republic, as well as after his retirement.

Mutalibov’s son, 49-year old Azad Mutalibov died on Monday in Baku from cancer. The funeral ceremony will be held on August 9.
