Iran backs efforts to end Syria crisis

A senior member of Iranian Parliament says the Islamic Republic supports efforts by Muslim and regional countries to help resolve the crisis in Syria, Press TV reports.

“Iran endorses efforts by the Muslim world and regional countries to put an end to the crisis in Syria,” Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security and Foreign Policy Alaeddin Boroujerdi told reporters in the Egyptian capital of Cairo. 

The Iranian lawmaker also pointed to remarks by Arab League Secretary General Nabil al-Arabi about the importance of launching a “serious dialogue” in Syria and said that dialogue is the best solution to the crisis in the Middle Eastern country.
