Armenian population exceeds 3.26 million

The population of Armenia in the first half of 2011 reached 3,266,400,
head of the section for population and demography of the National
Statistics Service of Armenia, Karine Kuyumjanyan, said.

Population increased by 3,800 since the start of 2011 or by 11,800,
compared with July 2010.

Population with age above employable increased by 15%. The indicator
should not exceed 7-8%.

Armenia registered 20,102 births in the first half of 2011, a drop by
4.4% compared with the same period in 2010. The negative balance is
89,345.
