Armenia in 52nd position in world growth index
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaArmenia is in 52nd place out of 125 other countries according to a
comparative analysis of the World Economic Forum (WEF) on stimulation
of world commerce for 2010.
According to message from PanArmenian.Net from the research center
“Economy and Values” (WEF's partner in Armenia), Armenia is the leader
among CIS countries as in the two previous years, ahead of Azerbaijan
(77th), Ukraine (81), Kazakhstan (88) and Russia (114). Global leaders
in world trade stimulation are Singapore and Hong-Kong.
According to the criteria of free-access to the market, the country is
in 9th position, having jumped 33 points since 2009, demonstrating
that the country’s government is promoting foreign trade and
stimulating exports of local goods.
According to the WEF analysis, Armenia is doing well implementing the
General Agreement on Trade Services (GATS) in the sphere of transport,
where it takes first place, but the country is still on 125th interms
of max customs rate.
