SOCAR to begin construction of oil refinery in Turkey this fall
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaSOCAR (the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) intends to start building
a new refinery in Turkey in October this year, the head of SOCAR,
Rovnag Abdullayev, said today at a meeting with participants of the
SOCAR Scholarship Program for 2007-2015, and students studying abroad
under the state program, Trend reports.
The construction of this plant will require an investment of five
billion dollars, and is meant to provide raw materials to the Turkish
petrochemical complex Petkim, which is co-owned by SOCAR.
The capacity of a new plant will amount to 10 million tons of raw
materials. Completion of construction works of the refinery is
expected in 2015.
