Russian government creates Interethnic Relations Department

Vice-Prime Minister and Head of Governmant’s staff Vyacheslav Volodin sign a document that stipulates creation of Interethnic Relations Department under Russian Federal Ministry of Culture, RIA Novosti reports referring to official governmental press-service.

The new Department will coordinate government’s efforts in the field of interethnic relations and carry out governmental strategies concerning the subject. The decision to create such a body was taken after the meeting of Russian PM Vladimir Putin with representatives from various confessional and ethnic groups during All-Russian Popular Front congress on July, 19.
