Russian tourists will no longer be able to enter Norway. From May 29, the border will be closed for transit and travel, the Russian Union of Tourism Industry (RUTI) warns.

From May 29, 2024, entry into Norway for Russians will be limited. Citizens of the Russian Federation may enter Norway with a study or work visa, with a Norwegian residence permit, or if they have close relatives in the Scandinavian country. Tourist and transit trips are prohibited. The latter were in demand after the closure of the Finnish border.

"The opportunity to make a transit trip to this country is also closed, since after the closure of the Russian-Finnish border, some tourists crossed the border through Norway",

the Vice President of RUTI Dmitry Gorin said.

At the same time, it has not been possible for Russians to obtain a Norwegian tourist visa from 2022. In the last two years, tourists have come to the country on other Schengen countries' visas.
