5.1-magnitude earthquake hits China

A 5.0-magnitude earthquake rattled southwest China's Sichuan Province today, the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC) reported.

The quake hit at 11:07 a.m. (0307 GMT) in Muli county, Liangshan prefecture in Sichuan with an epicenter depth of 8 km.

There were no immediate reports of casualties or housing damages, the Liangshan prefectural emergency management department and Muli county publicity department said.

The tremors were also felt in neighboring regions including Daocheng County under Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Sichuan.
